Gold is not cash. Cash is the in-match currency. Gold is the account currency on the Currencies page.

Sources

The Currencies page lists story mode (100 or more, depending on the quest), Time Chamber, codes, and the Treasure Cart. Extreme story does not give more coins. Gold buys secondary Hero Summon units, emotes, and PvP shop bosses. X gold sources were on an empty wiki page, so I am not listing an X method.
